Platform Privacy Checklist
Start with the most impactful fixes. Open each task for short, repeatable steps you can follow on desktop or mobile.
Platform updates screens often. If something looks different, the option may be renamed or moved.
Delete a post
Step-by-step
- Open Platform and go to your profile.
- Scroll to the post and tap the three dots in the top corner.
- Select Move to trash or Delete post.
- Confirm the deletion. Trashed posts disappear after 30 days.
Change who can see a post
Step-by-step
- Find the post on your timeline.
- Tap the audience icon (often shows Friends or Public).
- Choose the audience you want: Friends, Only Me, or a custom list.
- Save to apply instantly to that post.
Review tags before they appear
Step-by-step
- Open Settings & privacy → Settings.
- Select Profile and tagging.
- Under Review, turn on Review posts you’re tagged in before the post appears.
- Turn on Review tags that people add to your posts for extra control.
Remove app permissions
Step-by-step
- Go to Settings & privacy → Settings.
- Choose Apps and websites.
- Select the app you no longer use.
- Tap Remove and confirm to revoke access.
Turn on two-factor authentication
Step-by-step
- Open Settings & privacy → Settings.
- Navigate to Security and login.
- Under Two-factor authentication, select Edit.
- Choose your method (authenticator app, text, or security key) and follow the prompts.
Check profile privacy
Step-by-step
- From your profile, tap the three dots next to Edit profile.
- Select View As to see what strangers can view.
- Adjust any sections by tapping Edit privacy where needed.
- Repeat for Friends list, About, and Photos sections.
